facebook...and other stuff

I'm tired of getting on facebook and reading inane posts like "I love my husband soooo much!" I mean, HELLO, I figure that's why you're married. Also, don't become a fan of a memorial page for someone who died that you used to pick on mercilessly in high school. You also don't need to become a fan of a retiring football coach if you were a total burnout.

I have about 3 weeks of work left. So far have not heard anything about the potential other job. My boss is calling today to check on the status of that. I hope it pans out. I could definitely stand to make twice the money I'm making now, especially since I really need to be saving to buy a new car.

Thursday I get to see Sam! My family is taking a vacation up to the Montague/Rothbury/Hart area, so I will be spending the weekend with her!

if only life could be drama-free

I'm just so tired of all the drama. I get most of it from my ex-husband, and usually I ignore it. It's just so hard to ignore when it affects Emily so bad and makes her physically ill. No 10-year-old should have so much stress in her life. I wish my ex and his wife would just drop off the face of the earth. I'm tired of them treating her so shitty.

Easter at their house was apparently a big mess. Lots of fighting. At least her grandmother and aunt were there to stick up for her when I can't be. Maybe this whole psychologist thing will help. Who knows? Right now Steve's supposedly calling to talk to the therapist, but she's going to tell him that if he wants to know anything about her treatment he'll have to go in for a session, and I'm sure he doesn't want to do it. Emily keeps telling me to cancel the appointment, but I'm not about to do that just to make his life easier.

Disabled?

I'm finally doing what I should have done many, many moons ago...apply for disabled status at school. I have put it off for years and years because I hate being considered "disabled", but I need the status to explain the fact that I work ahead like a crazy person (no pun intended) when I'm manic, and then do absolutely no homework when I'm depressed and all I want to do is sleep. That's how it's been the last two weeks. Now I'm out of the funk and ready to catch up, so that's what I'll be doing this weekend and all of next week. I emailed my professors, not going into too much detail, but explaining to them that I have an appointment on Tuesday to apply for disabled status, so could they please give me an extension on my work til next weekend. Hopefully the response will be positive. School is my biggest struggle. I sometimes feel as if I'll never complete it.

Drilling

I've been sitting in my lovely little windowless office for the last two hours and twenty minutes wanting nothing less than to take a very beautiful nap but the construction workers on the second floor directly below my desk have no intention of letting me have my way.

It's "spring forward" day. Which makes no sense to me as it is not going to be spring for another week. I think the whole idea sucks. What fool decided that it would be a good idea for almost everyone in the United States to lose an hour of sleep? It's almost as if this sadistic mo-fo wanted to see how many people he could get to go postal on the same day in March. I knew it was going to be a rough day when my alarm went off at 5:55 and even my dear little kitty didn't want to wake up.

But I digress...

School is really started to get sucky. Which is all my fault, of course, as I let myself get behind. Now I must do some serious butt kissing to get my professors to let me turn in last week's work late. I blame it all on the depression I've been going through lately. It's always obvious when my meds decide to take a shit on me and need to be increased, but this time it came way before I could get an appointment with the doctor. I go on Saturday, and hopefully he'll increase me and not change my wonderful cocktail that seems to keep me moderately sane.

Like all bipolar people, I go through my cycles of ups and downs. The ups totally rock. I get so much done! I can go days and days on minimal amounts of sleep, and my motivation never seems to end. Unfortunately, though, I'm in a crappy down spell and all I've wanted to do is sleep, sleep, sleep. So, as I try begrudgingly to get through this, I shall claim caffeine as my bffl and seriously crack open my books tonight. Wish me luck.
